She stood in front at the open clear window, big enough she can fit inside. The wind feeding her long blond hair, wearing a little tiny white dress, pressing against her little breast. A fresh day makes her remind. So then, she closes her eyes, she remembers wandering one day on the green endless prairie.
It didn’t matter if she got lost because she was playing hide-and-seek with that little cute boy she met one day. They played the whole day just to finally see the sunset and go to home for dinner before the moon arises and the stars embedded the black sky. The pity girl with her cute boy weren’t so hungry so they took out the Cheerios, milk, spoons, and two bowls and ran into the roof of the white wooden house, and they talked all night long. Watching the wide sky above, they felt asleep until the sun rose again and reached their tiny little faces with sunbeams and fresh air. So they waited all night long just to go to the green prairie to play again, hide-and-seek like they always did.
Greener that ever, it was her turn to count. She closed her eyes and counted to 10, never minding the future but living in the present. At the time she opened her eyes, she started to run after him, she was so excited every time she played with him. And she ran and she ran. She ran just to find nothing, “little cute boy, where were you?” she asked. Then she shouted harder until there was no voice but tears in her blue eyes. The sun was going to set and yet she hasn’t found him. She went back to home only that this time she will sit alone in the roof. She cried just to felt asleep, forget about the stars which they stared at together every night.
Five years later, she is now fifteen, prettier than ever with her shiny curly hair and wearing a white dress ‘cause white was her favorite color just as the color of the angels’ wings like her angel was his boy. Now she lived in the city and went to junior high school every day. But she never stopped eating Cheerios every morning at breakfast, and her favorite game was always hide-and-seek even if she was growing faster than ever. She was sick of seeing everyday faces disguised on shames. She missed the prairie where everything was so pure, pure as her favorite color.
That day was the only day she bought the newspaper and she was shocked. Standing on her wide window and staring at the cars accelerating faster. She needed to be there with her boy, she wanted to fly and reach the sky like her boy did. She hated the city and all its crimes from now. One step closer to heaven, one step closer to collision. What could she do? She has nobody but the hope that someday she could find him. She keep counting among years. She remembered her running freely. She wanted to run again. But she already found her boy. Just one step to be with him, happy again, forever and ever as they used to say. Just one step. The air ran across her hair, among the body, beneath her heart. She imagined her with her bones collided, some people staring at her and screaming for help as she did one day; others, they rather prefer just to have a little glance at her and continue with their business. It didn’t matter too much who lived and who died in such a huge city.
But the collision never happened, she saw colors getting lighter until she just saw white. She closed her eyes again. Someone was staring at her and she can feel it. Opened her eyes, just to feel how she laid on his arms. It has been a long time she didn’t smile. Yet she smiled. “It has been a long time” she whispered. He grasped just a little “Hi, wanna play?”. Just as the same he said when they first met, his voice sounded stronger and louder. It has been a long time she didn’t played. But she still remembered the game rules. There was no rule. Yet they played, yet this time they found each other over and over again.
