Mexican Supremacy at the Concachampions

More than half of the Group stage has passed and the four Mexican clubs in the tournament are heads of their respective groups. Pachuca, Toluca, UNAM, and Cruz Azul are leading both in points and in goals in this competition; here are the highlights of each group:

Group 1:

After shockingly losing their first match 4-1, Pachuca are know the leaders of their group, after defeating 4-0 the Salvadorian team, Isidro Metapán. On the other match of the group, Houston Dynamo crushed 5-1 Árabe Unido. With these results, Isidro Metapán is eliminated from the Concachampions while Pachuca, Metapán, and Dynamo will decide their fate in their last two matches.

Group 2:

Toluca is the leader of its group after 4 matches, all of them, which it has won. Toluca is by far the best group in the entire tournament after winning all of its game, making 14 goals, just receiving one, and was the first team to pass to the quarter-finals. Its other group rivals are DC United, Marathón, and San Juan Jabloteh. This last one is already eliminated and the others are fighting for the last spot, with 6 points each.

Group 3:

Cruz Azul is also the head of this group with 10 points and is already qualified with still two rounds missing in the championship. This group is also home of three of the best teams in the cup, Columbus Crew, Saprissa, and Puerto Rico Islanders, and, with just 4 points separating the second and last places, the last ticket might go to anyone.

Group 4:
Perhaps the closest group in the championship, since all of its members might still qualify. The UNAM is the leader with 10 points and needs just a tie to go to the next phase while its other opponents depend on winning their other matches to pass.
