Just Nine Tickets Left for FIFA

Last FIFA Round saw 12 new teams entering the Finals of the biggest sport tournament in the World.

In the African region, Ivory Coast sealed their qualification to their 2nd World Cup after a combination of results in their group. Africa has still three berths left, with the duels for them between: Tunisia/Nigeria, Cameroon/Gabon, and Argelia/Egypt.

Europe was the continent that gave the most passes to the Black Continent, 6. The lucky ones were Germany, Denmark, Serbia, Italy, Switzerland, and Slovakia. Also, the matches for the play-off games were announced recently: Ireland/France, Portugal/Bosnia, Greece/Ukraine, and Russia/Slovenia.

Two more teams were qualified in South America: Chile and Argentina, this last one qualified by a goal that was scored almost in the game’s end. The team that lost that game, Uruguay will need to play an Intercontinental Playoff to see if they will pass to the Finals. Its rival team will be Costa Rica.

In the North American area, the teams qualified included: Mexico, USA, and Honduras, while the fourth place, Costa Rica, will play against Uruguay next November for a last chance to get to South Africa.

The last two zones, Asia and Oceania, had their Intercontinental playoff’s first leg played. In this first game, Bahrein tied 0-0 with New Zealand, the Oceanian Champion.

The last places for the World Cup will be contested next November, and the group draws for the finals will take place in December.
